SHARPS Drop off
The Kingston Hospital will now be accepting sharps--syringes, needles and lancets used by community residents with certain medical conditions-- every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the volunteer information desk on the main floor of the hospital. The program is only for community residents. Sharps must be transported to the hospital in containers made of puncture-resistant plastic with a tight-fitting screw top and it must be clearly labeled -- Contains Sharps. COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Community Education offerings at The Kingston Hospital include:
New York State Program Point and Insurance Reduction Program.
The New York Safety Program is a six-hour point/insurance reduction program for safety and savings approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Participants can save 10 percent on collision and liability insurance for three years and reduce four points on their driving record. There is a fee for this course. Childbirth Education Classes
This class includes information on the stages of labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques, the role of the labor partner, pain management, basic infant care, infant CPR, and car seat safety.The series of six classes begins on the first Tuesday of every month for four consecutive Tuesdays. All classes are from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Early registration is required. The cost for the six-week program is no cost for those delivering at The Kingston Hospital and $65 for those delivering at other healthcare facilities.
